SynchroNice / Third Edition / 2018

SYNCHRO NICE 47 some triples? Will that be Synchro? Not in my book but maybe we have to make even more concessions for the Olympic dream? How come that it’s always the same countries that split up the medals on the international podiums? Because they have a bigger platform of Synchro skaters. In Finland for example when you start skating you choose at the age of 3 or 4 whether you want to skate Synchro or Figure Skating? It is not like that in Sweden. If I look at all the top teams (I´m not really sure how it works in Russia) but the other top teams they have a big platform of skaters, clubs that have from juvenile teams to senior teams. They often have many high-level teams spread over the country as well. Or maybe there aren’t that many top teams, like for example in Canada. Usually it’s always Les Supre- mes and Nexxice that will go to Worlds but at least they have to fight for the National title and for their placements for Worlds, which will be Canada 1 or Canada 2. That is a big difference with Spain and many other countries, I believe that any national competition back home will make you perform better. One shouldn’t ever get to comfortable and relaxed and stop pushing yourself. My dream for now is that Spain will have more teams so we’ll have an opponent to fight against, an opponent that will push my skaters a little more and it would also be just perfect to have to qualify for Worlds. Well Amanda, it was great talking to you, it looks to me that you know which way you want to go… But don’t be a Synchroholic, you do have a life besides skating, don’t you? Well as a matter of fact, I am having some trouble finding myself new hobbies, ever since I started working with my major hobby. I´ve been thinking a lot about the things I’d like to do outside skating? The problem is that I still haven´t found an answer. I´ve always been identifying myself as a skater. That’s who I am that’s what I love and now it is even my job. I follow every Synchronized skating competition during the season, I follow all the Grand Prix, Europeans, World Figure skating championships and the Olympics. I think it’s still very much my hobby, but I do like sport in general, I also follow the national teams in football, ice hockey, skiing you name it. I guess I’m a bit of a sportaholic. But I love skiing and playing golf myself. We will see how my life will develop But whatever happens… it happens for a reason, that’s a quote I firmly believe in Thank you, Amanda, and of course all the best in beautiful and Sunny Spain. The Spanish are lucky to have you.  IT HELPED ME TO PUSH THROUGH PAIN AND TIREDNESS ‘‘
