SynchroNice / Third Edition / 2018
SYNCHRO NICE 41 HARTMAN Amanda We always find it very surprising to find Synchronized skating teams in countries with an average temperature high enough to fry eggs on the roof of a car. Spain is one of these countries. To find a teamwith a young and beautiful Swedish coach is maybe even more surprising but definitely reason to ask this coach for an interview. So, your full name is? Amanda Hartman and so young, where you’re from? I just turned 29 years old and I was born 1988 in Varberg, Sweden but I grew up in Fjärås which is a small village outside Kungsbacka a city south of Gothenburg. Sweden, 11 podiums in the past 17 years, me- aning all Swedes must have been born on an Ice rink? Hahaha no I grew up in a house surrounded by nothing more than cows and trees, not that we were farmers or anything, but we just literally grew up in the middle of nowhere. Any brothers or sisters or other relatives? I have 2 younger sisters Natalie 27 years old and Olivia 25 years old and of course my mom Veronica and my dad Niclas. Pets? We had a dog growing up, a golden retriever called ”Zorro” and there will definitely be a dog in my life again but it´s just too hard when the time comes to say goodbye. Me and my boyfriend Anish have been helping rescued dogs who need foster homes before they get adopted. At this moment, we live in a smaller apartment and we feel it wouldn’t be fair to a dog to not have enough space to move and play around, so taking in foster dogs is at least a way to help other dogs before we one day will find our own dog to adopt. Are you the only family member that ended up in sports? No way, we’re definitely a Synchro-family all the way.My dad used to be president of the club where I first started skating in the Kungsbacka Figure Skating club but also at the club where I finished my” skating career” the Gothenburg’s Figure Skating club. My momVeronica is still active as a TeamManager for Team Boomerang and my younger sister Olivia did her last Worlds for Sweden last year in Colorado Springs. Then there was my poor younger sister Natalie(smiling) who always had to tag along all around the world and to all different ice rinks. She definitely became one of our biggest supporters. Once we talked about making her a technical specialist but as I recall, that discussion never came further than the dinner table haha. COACH OF TEAMS FUSIÓN, SAPPHIIRE AND MIRUM
