TODAY’S KIDS ARE THE OLYMPIANS OF TOMORROW #WhyNotSynchro2022 - Elina Paasonen In this issue, you’ll find interviews with some the best Synchro skaters in the world and it’s amazing how candidly and openly they all responded to our questions. We have coaches telling us how they ended up in Synchronized skating and we asked miss Leena Laaksonen all about judging for the ISU. Furthermore, we asked some guest writers to do a column for us or to write about issues in Synchronized Skating in their country: Mr Zoran Kovacevic wrote a wonderful article about the development in Synchro. And there’s much more… Many in Synchronized Skating of course use the summer break to go on holiday or to relax. Patricia and I used last summer break very well, too, by getting married. We had a wonderful wedding day and it was very nice to have a small part of this giant Synchro family joining us on this special day. Some good friends/colleague photographers we met years ago in Finland surprised us with their attendance. So even during summer we talked Synchro. It shows again, Synchro Skating is just one big family and together we can achieve anything, including the inclusion in the Olympic games. We didn’t make Pyeongchang, but #WhyNotSynchro2022? We just have to keep developing, of course we asked all our interviewees their thoughts on development and progression in Synchronized Skating as well. Making SynchroNice Magazine proves to be a time & money consuming project over and over again. Especially because we feel that every issue should be better than the previous issue. However, none of all this would have been possible without the spontaneous and dedicated cooperation of all athletes, officials, guests and OCs portrayed in this magazine. Thank you all very much for your contribution - you make it possible. In regard to our photography, we’d like to express that only a few of the many thousands of pictures we take all over the globe make it into this magazine If you or your team isn’t on one of them, then this is just bad luck and a coincidence and has little to do with the quality in skating. We hand them out at competitions we visit, but unfortunately, we cannot ship them for free. You can order online as many free copies as you like, but we regretfully will have to charge you for the shipping costs.
