SynchroNice / Fourth Edition / 2019

IT MAKES ME FEEL SO VERY PROUD AND GIVES ME BACK ALL THE ENERGY I NEED AND THAT'S WHY I LOVE THIS SPORT SO MUCH! Synchro Skating competition “The Hevelius Cup”. This has been a really big event in our city so far, counting an enthusiastic audience of more than 3000 spectators at every competition and live coverage by TV, Radio and other Press. An unbelievable success in such a short period of time. I can imagine it to be a shed load of work… the club, all the teams, your own International competition, you must be single then? Hahaha, no no, I’m a wife to a loving man and mother of two beautiful sons and my family is the most important thing to me. How do you manage? My husband, he understands me like no other and he’s the biggest support one could wish for all these years. He was always there, just so I could chase my goals and make my dreams come true. He truly is my best friend and I try to spend all my free time with my husband and family. You must be very happy then? I love my work, I love my family and I’m a very happy person anyway because I’m able to do what I really love. Yes, I’m happy all right but, I need to have a goal in my life so I can work hard to reach it and then I’m happy. Tell me about practice? We practice weekly 5-6 hours on ice and 1-2 h off-ice with our juniors. At first, when we started the club, we had only like 1 or 2 hours a week, so slowly but steady we’re getting to a profes sional way of practicing. Are you also responsible for the music and the dresses? Usually, I choose the kind of music, but we discuss it with the team. I choose the theme for my skaters, one which they will like as well, because they have to perform to its music, and they need to be able to feel it. The same goes for the costumes. We always try to find good ideas together. Any favorite program at the moment? Yes, I really love our free programmusic “The Greatest Showman”. What about the competitions that you visit? I like to travel, and I like to compete. Over the years, I have made a lot of friends all around the World and every time we travel, I can’t wait to see them and talk to them. We al ways have such a great time. But surely you are not trav- eling to every competition with every team? No, I don’t. I do help all our teams to set up their programs first, but during the competition season I focus on Juniors, Novice Basic and Mixed Age. Of course, I love all of my teams. They are really great kids and they work so hard. Every time I watch them perform at a competition they make me feel so very proud and give me back all the energy I need and that’s why I love this sport so much. I’m a very emotional person and my skaters know that. They know that they have a lot of potential, but they need to work hard. They also know I believe in them and that is something I find the most important. Agnes together with Mireille Mostaert from team Phoenix You’re definitely a lady with the right mindset, shouldn’t you lobby us into the Olympics? It’s very sad that Synchro didn’t make it to the Olympics once again. I was hoping that maybe this time it would work but maybe we just need to wait few more years. I do believe though that we should try to attract much more media for our sport. What we do is a very spectac ular sport and interesting for the whole family to watch. I also think it is way more difficult than figure skating, because it is a team sport. Imagine how hard it is to find 20 skaters with great skills and let them do what they do on this small piece of ice and all of this simultaneously. So, when is the next Hevelius Cup? We hope that our teams will do great at our home competition. The Hevelius Cup will be 26-27 January 2019. Check our website for Hevelius Cup 2020. Everybody is very welcome and really should visit us at least once. Thank you, Agnes, for talking to us. We really believe Poland will have a great Synchro Future with you in charge.  SYNCHRO NICE 99
