SynchroNice / Fourth Edition / 2019
SYNCHRO NICE LOIS LONG Once SynchroNice Magazine is published, we start thinking about our next issue right away and who should be in it. So, during the season we always look around for remarkable athletes, coaches or officials. One of the officials, already on our wish list for a few years, was this white-haired lady onthejudgestand, theonewiththe friendly smile and an impeccable dress-sense. While at World’s in Swedish Stockholm, we found a moment to address her and ask her whether she’d be interested in an interview for our magazine. After a brief consultation she agreed. Have you already guessed it? Correct, we’re talking to Mrs. Lois Long.First we of coursewould like to knowwhat her role is within the ISU. “I am currently a Member of the ISU Technical Committee for Synchronized Skating. I was no- minated by my Federation and initially elected to serve on the Technical Committee in 2016 and re-elected in 2018. I am an ISU Referee and ISU Judge in Synchronized Skating and was selected by my Federation to apply, and test, for these appointments. I received my ISU Judge appoint- ment in 2007, and my ISU Referee appointment in 2017.”
